And now, our little piece of paradise is coming to an end. My husband has received a fabulous new job offer, we have a second baby on the way, and we are leaving Victoria for Kelowna, British Columbia.
I know very little about Kelowna except 3 major points:
- Most of the fruit grown in Canada is grown in this area; apples and grapes in particular (with many vineyards - hooray!)
- Kelowna derives its name from an Okanagan language term for "grizzly bear"
- There is a legend about a lake monster living in Okanagan Lake (Kelowna borders this lake) called the Ogopogo.
So, as this new world reveals itself to me, I am going to write about it here. I may take some pictures, review local attractions, and keep track what I find - selfishly this is also so that I remember all the good spots to return to when I can.
You are most welcome to join me here on my exploration of our new paradise in the Okanagan Valley.
